Balloon Rides Over Lake District

Fly over England's beautiful Lake District on a hot air balloon flight to view the autumn colours and the landscape that inspired the "Lake Poets" such as William Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge Taylor in the 19th Century. From your hot air balloon ride basket view the Lake District summits of Skiddaw, Helvellyn or Scafell, the forest trails and lakeside paths. This is one of England most beautiful but rugged landscapes.

We are taking one of our hot air balloons to the Lake District for selected flight dates in September and October. Our Lake District balloon rides will take off from launch sites around the North Lakes close to Bassenthwaite, Ullswater, Thirlmere and Derwent Water near the Cumbrian market towns of Keswick and Penrith in the Lake District National Park. These are accessed from the M6 and the A66 and our pilots will choose which site we will fly from on each occasion depending on the forecast wind direction for your balloon flight.

Weather conditions for hot air ballooning in the Lake District must ensure the balloon can land close to access for recovery by the balloon crew, creating challenging conditions for our pilots and the need for several launch sites to maximise the chances of flying. Our Lake District balloon flights will start at an easy to find meeting point and you will then be led to the launch site so please be punctual or a little early for the meeting time. And don't forget to bring suitable footwear!
